Everything about water purification systems
Water purification systems have become necessary in most parts of the world because of pollutants and other contaminants found in drinking water supplies. A water filter removes contaminants in the water and there are many different water filters filtrating water in different ways.
- Whole House Water Purification System
This is a fast water purification system and uses a water filter cartridge to filter the water. The water filter contains a water softener that gets hooked to incoming water pipes providing clean water to the entire household.
- Faucet Water Filters Water Purification System
These filters are screwed into a kitchen faucet and clean the water as it comes out. Most of the faucet water filters can be switched on and off and allows for different water flow like streaming and spraying.
There is also specific faucet water filters like the under-faucet filter which gets hooked up to the water pipes as they go into the faucet. The water is purified before it reaches the tap. This type of filter is easy to install and replace.
- Distillers
Distillers is one type of water purification system that heats the water, turn it into vapour and when the steam cools down in a different part of the filter it condenses back to water. This is an excellent way to purify water but many consumers don't agree as the distilled water tastes bland as most of the oxygen has been removed after the distilling process.
It is important to know that distilling can't remove chemicals that have the same boiling point as water like ammonia. It is also a very slow process and can only clean three liters of water per hour.
- Reverse Osmosis Water Purifier
Water purification can also be performed by reverse osmosis. Water is sent through two different liquids separated by a permeable film allowing water only to pass through in a molecular state. As soon as all the water has passed through it leaves all impurities behind.
Because oxygen travels through the filter the water doesn't taste bland however it is also a very slow water purification process.
Types of water dispensers
- Bottle-less Water Dispensers
This type of water dispenser is installed into an existing water line and adjusts the flow and temperature of water at the time of filtration.
- Bottled Water Dispenser
A bottled water dispenser (usually three to five gallons) uses a bottle to store water which is screwed onto a dispenser and dispenses the water through the bottle. Bottled water dispensers are more popular under consumers because the source of the water can easily be monitored and assures the consumer of the water's purity.
