Water on holiday
What do we mean by that? Yes, it is that time of year again! The silly season, the holiday season – call it what you like - we all go a little mad. Schools beak-up, businesses close down for a few weeks, shops are full of decorations, and festivities abound. The many, fortunate enough to pack caravans and suitcases, tackle the big trek. To where? It is human nature to head for water, the sea, lakes, dams and rivers. What's a holiday with no water to swim, surf, sail, fish or snorkel?
Water will no doubt again play a vital role in the enjoyment of everyone's holiday.
It is therefore again necessary to give a timely warning to all to protect and preserve our vital water resources so that we and our fellow citizens of this world, that come after us, will also be able to enjoy the beauty and fun of our seas, lakes ,dams and rivers on their holidays.
Enough said!
We have come to the end of another event filled year. We hosted one of the most successful Soccer World Cups; managed not to be too seriously affected by a crippling world recession, and now look forward to tackling an exciting 2011.
The Water-team at Glacier would like to wish all our customers, colleagues, suppliers, friends and future customers a well deserved rest and safe journey there and back, where-ever you may spend your holiday. May the new year be filled with health and prosperity for you all !
On a lighter note :
BOWLED OVER.
An anxious father-to-be calls the hospital to ask about his wife who has gone into labour. He mistakenly dials the number for the cricket stadium and asks how things are and is shocked by the reply: “Fine, three are out; we hope to get the remaining seven out by lunch; and the last one out was a duck.”
TAX TIME
A man writes a letter to the revenue service: “ I cannot sleep at night as I have for years cheated on my tax returns. I am enclosing a cheque for R 500.00. If I still can't sleep I will send the rest.”
